Christmas Day 2008 (Part 1)

Dec 25th we woke up and were really excited... because the family was coming over to our house for Dinner! YAY! We felt honored. So when we got up we had some preparing to do... we were in charge of making the turkey!!! Had Gabe or me ever made a turkey?!?! NOPE! Did we mess it up?!?!? YEP! Its grand! 1. we didn't defrost the turkey ahead of time 2. we wanted to bake it - but didn't have enough time 3. then we wanted to "fry" it in Gabe's new turkey fryer - but had no peanut oil ... So the morning started out with us calling everyone in the family to see if they will take the Turkey process over - Lucky for us our brother in law - told us to defrost the turkey in water all open and he would come over and smoke the turkey...So that's what we had it defrosted for a while and although smoking a turkey is not as fast as frying a turkey its definitely longer than baking it!!! So we learned our lesson... next year - we are in charge of the turkey whether were hosting or not - we have to redeem ourselves!!!

Now we were officially late to Gabes moms house to open our presents from her. Good thing is EVERYONE is ALWAYS late at her house... so we were good there. We ate a great breakfast and then opened our presents from her. Mrs. Elanas pretty tree!
She made us each a stocking!!!
