Oliva Family: New Years 2009

We spend the last day of 2009 with some good friends down in Port Aransas. We had a pretty nice bonfire going all night and made some yummy s'mores. We attempted in setting off a few fireworks, until the popo came up to us. When asked by the popo if we had any fireworks, every ones respond was NOPE, but Gabe admitted there were some fireworks in the truck. You know what the fine is for having fireworks within the city limits?!?!? $2,000 PER BOX! (And no it doesn't matter if its just a $3 box of sparklers!) Wow, the popo was nice enough to not give us a fine, since we told him where they were, he simply had us put them away! Wowzers! So after that we stuck to just the bonfire. At around 11:50pm we headed up stairs to watch the ball drop on TV but we missed it, so we played around for another 4 hours or so and then crashed. In the morning we work up for pancakes, eggs, and sausage! Yum! We played some games, watched some movies and for lunch stopped by Snoppies on the Island. After some more relax time, we made some yummy sushi. The next morning it was time to pack up and head out...well for most of them.
