Now almost being married it was time where to spend the holidays? Your mom? My mama? Your dad's? So the decision had to be made. Thanksgiving was spent at Mrs Elana's and Dr Carlos'. That was easy. Christmas on the other hand was a little more difficult. We had to make a though decision. Mrs. Elana wanted us there. But here was the tricky part. Kathrin (My Sis) went to Germany for the holidays..so it was just my mama for my family. Surly I could not have her spend the holidays by her self. So Gabe and I split up. Him with his family, I with mine. I packed my things after work on the 24th and drove to Austin. Me thinking my mama would have gone grocery shopping and having Christmas dinner ready for me... Oh.. wait MY mama... No! I drove in... nothing in the fridge but a 6 pack of beer. (Got-to-love-her) So what did we do. We drove around for 2 hours looking for anything that was open. And all behold!!! We found a small pub. The "The Dog & Duck" was open and served us a ... good... Christmas dinner. After which we played some pool. Had some good laughs and went home back to bed. That's MY FAMILY! The next morning my mama and I meet with some others at the hospital my mama works and handed out presents to all the kids in the hospital.. Good gifts too. None of this dollar tree stuff. We had a great time. Then it was time to go see Gabe and his family. Everyone late, running around like chickens, because Dinner is not done. But everyone laughing, and enjoying the family being together - in k-oz - but together. HIS FAMILY. Over all, it was a great Christmas. Ideal? No. Perfect? No. Priceless? Absolutely.
Now... Of course what did I get? Even better what did I give? I got Gabe a 6 piece DeWalt tool set. You should have seen him (and all the other men in the room) he was like a lil boy drooling. So happy. Wanting to go to work right then and there. It was so nice to see him so happy. I really liked my gift too. I received a standing jewelry box. One where the side opens and the top with a mirror. I loved it. Got lots of other stuff too. Loved it all.
New years.. you ask? Are you kidding me. 4 days before the big day. I had no time. Of course.. I spent some time with Ashley and Bner ( that's a tradition now. ) But besides getting ready for the Wedding nothing big.
