WOW. What a last week...What have I been up to you ask? SO MUCH! I have had so much on my plate lately I have been feeling really overwhelmed and when I feel overwhelmed I hid it and hid it and then one day I cry for about 5 hours tell my self life stinks and then I feel much better, I put things back in perspective and I usually end up taking some sort of trip or vacation. (Although I must say its takes alot to get me feeling overwhelmed. - I'd say like one every few YEARS!) But last week I was there. So I did - I cried for a night and then made plans to go out of town and have some "No Responsibility Time"
NOW? How did I do this?!?
THE 50 ANNUAL WESTERN DAYS In Yorktown Texas!!!
I found out about the event on the radio - Looked into it and I knew I wanted to go! I have to admit I LOVE CARNIVALS, RODEOS, FAIRS, or anything like it! I cant stand knowing there is one it town and NOT go. I love the environment, the rides, the turkey legs, all the little stands you can buy things, the games, the petting zoo, the live entertainment, being outside, everything about it. I LOVE IT. So I spoke with Gabe, and we decided that I needed a vacation so we packed Thursday night and left right after work on Friday. Since it was in Yorktown, TX a city of barley 2,000 peeps - we did not think it was necessary to get a hotel in advance but as we were driving and looking for hotels.. THEY WERE ALL FULL. We ended up getting a hotel about 45 min away from Yorktown in Goliad. But it was still worth it. So Friday night we got there...They had the neatest things. A petting zoo with a kangaroo. Which made Gabe and I laugh the whole night! They had real Indian tipi's which we played in, they had live music, great food and lots and lots of shops. As well as the carnival. We mostly walked and looked about at everything Friday evening and got back to our hotel around 11 or so. Saturday morning we got up early to catch the parade. Gabe had NEVER been to a parade, since I love them I was so excited for him to see it! Bugging him the whole time I am sure! After the parade we watched all sorts of shows that they had, old "Six shooter Gun Show", Puppet Shows, Old Western Shows, and much more. They had the Budweiser Horses there. THEY ARE SO BIG! (They were also in the parade) They had the longest obstacle course ever, they had armadillo races, they had face painting ... and here's the biggie! THEY HAD A MECHANICAL BULL RIDING CONTEST! YES YES I DID! I did it and not only did I participate
I received 3rd PLACE!!!!
Then an Saturday night there was the Kevin Fowler Concert! He did an awesome show, we were front row the whole time. I even got a picture with him and he signed my hat!
Sunday we went back and walked around some more, ate breakfast, took some more pictures and headed back. When we got home, we also stopped by the Jazz Festival, but once we smelled cotton candy and funnel cakes we decided we had had enough and called it a weekend!
So yes, life is good. It does not stink. I love it. I had such a good time. Gabe was such a good sport, staying out with me till 3am. Listening to me SCREAM every song. I love him! Hes the best of the best of the best SIR!

The Kangaroo in the petting zoo!
Went to a great western show... the guys loved me!
Gabe not so much!!!
One of the Budweiser Horses - I believe his name is Mark - they get taken care of so well but they are HUGE!

Congrats on the bull riding! I've always wanted to do that... any tricks of the trade you'd like to share on how to win 3rd place!??
Kremer! How did I not know you had a blog? Okay, so this is the coolest thing I think someone has ever done. I love that you went bull riding. That is now on the list of things I must do before I die. :)
